We had a special visitor yesterday!

Visit to Castle Manor

5th and 6th class walked to Castle Manor nursing home after our final swim today and visited the residents there.
We had carols, trad music and dancing, then the children gave handmade Christmas cards to the residents and had a little chat with them before we took our leave.
It was a very special visit and the children were fantastic: the staff were very impressed with them and Killygarry teachers felt very proud!
Well done 5th and 6th!

6th class cribs

We made these cribs and they were put on display in the cathedral.

These figures were knitted and have been in the school for years.

Everyone in 6th class helped out and we all made cribs.

My "lovely" class!!

Christmas shoeboxes

St. Brigid's N.S Killygarry has always encouraged children to think of those less-fortunate than themselves and as always, the children respond amazingly well.
The shoeboxes are a long tradition where children send toys, toiletries and small items of clothing to children in developing countries.
This year, as well as the usual shoebox, 6th class are collecting to help homeless children in Dublin. Ask any of the boys and girls in 6th for more details.

Lego challenges!

6th class are using lego in all sorts of ways lately! They get challenge cards or instructions from teacher that they must follow...Have a look at what they have made so far!
