Today is ash Wednesday, the start of Lent.

We remember when Jesus went into the desert to pray for 40 days.

We try to be good during Lent and to do kind things for others, as well as making an effort to say our prayers.

Lots of people give up things as well, like sweets and treats!

You can get ashes from the church if your family would like to draw the cross on your forehead like the priest normally does on Ash Wednesday!
