Crystal Maze Tour 2015

We could have done with quite a few of these yesterday morning as we headed to Kells for our school tour! As the activity centre was an outdoors one, the rain was disappointing to say the least.
The boys and girls took one look at the fantastic games and challenges and forgot all about the inclement weather. The children had an amazing time, winning crystals for their teams through competing and teamwork. The winning team won a trophy to bring home.  Thankfully everyone had a change of clothes so mammies and daddies didn't see how dirty they got (until now!)

Kite update!

Today was the launch of our kites!
There was much running and dragging of kites, along with hopping and throwing them into the air in the hopes of getting airborne! Poor Maria came a cropper twice when she was ambushed by kites descending :(
Thankfully all the effort paid off and the whooping and cheering as kites soared could be heard all throughout Killygarry!

Jelly Babies Maths!

Who knew maths could be so tasty?
4th and 5th classes were very busy answering tricky Jelly Babies questions to get to the ultimate prize of eating their maths equipment!
Estimation and calcuations of number, weight, cost,  fractions, decimals, percentages, length, probability and graphs were all worked out before the treats disappeared from sight!
