Robin Hood

Last week, we saw the panto Robin Hood in the community centre.
It was very good and very funny.
Dylan is writing an article about it which will be put on our blog just as soon as it's ready!

Yummy!

Each week, class groups get stars for hard work, good behaviour and keeping class rules.
The winning group get a treat on Friday afternoon.
Last Friday, The Lizards won.
They got to decorate buns with vanilla icing, and then spell out their classmates names in edible alphabet letters.
Bello and Edvinas enjoyed the treat!

Saint Brigid's Day

Next Tuesday is the 1st February.
It is St. Brigid's Day and the first day of spring.

There is an old Irish tradition where the cross is left outside with some cloth the night before Feb 1st.
St. Brigid blesses the crosses and cloth during the night.
(The cloth is called St. Brigid's Mantle)
Next morning, someone goes outside to get the cross and cloth.
They have to knock on the door and the person that opens it has to say
"welcome Saint Brigid and welcome the spring".

James left the cross and cloth outside, and next morning, when he knocked on the door, Patrick opened it and said
"welcome Saint Brigid, and welcome the spring".
